Privacy Policy

This site is run by Jessica Capone, a ceramic artist based in Brooklyn, New York. This policy explains what personal information I collect when you visit the site or place an order, how I use it, and who it is shared with. I keep the amount of data I collect small, and I do not sell it to anyone.

If you have questions about anything here, email hello@jessicacapone.com.

What I collect

When you place an order, I collect your name, email address, shipping address, and the details of what you bought. If you contact me through the site, I collect your name, email, and whatever you write in your message.

When you pay, your card details go directly to Square, my payment processor. I never see or store your full card number. Square returns only the card brand and the last four digits to my records, which is all I keep.

I use Plausible for site analytics. Plausible does not use cookies and does not track you across other websites. It gives me rough, anonymous counts, like how many people visited a page. It does not identify you.

How I use it

I use your information to do the things you came here for: to process your order, take payment, ship your piece or arrange your pickup, send your order and shipping confirmations, and answer your questions. That is the whole list. I do not send marketing emails, and I do not add you to any mailing list.

Who it is shared with

To run the shop, a few trusted services handle parts of your order. Each one receives only what it needs to do its job.

Square processes your payment and handles your card data. Shippo generates shipping labels and gets carrier rates, so it receives your name and shipping address. The shipping carriers (USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL) receive your name and address to deliver your package. If your shipment is insured, the insurance provider (XCover, by Cover Genius) receives the information needed to cover the package and handle any claim. Resend sends the shop's emails, such as your order confirmation. Cloudflare provides hosting and routing for the site and its email.

These services act on my behalf to fulfill your order. I do not sell your personal information to anyone, and I do not share it for advertising. I may disclose information if the law genuinely requires it, such as a valid legal request, but that is the only other case.

International orders and customs

If you order from outside the United States, your name and address are shared with carriers and customs authorities as a normal part of international shipping. Customs forms require this. Your own country's customs service may also process your information when your package arrives.

How long I keep it

I keep order records for as long as I need them to run the business and meet tax and accounting requirements, which is generally a few years. After that I delete them. I keep contact messages only as long as I need to resolve what you wrote in about.

Your rights

You can ask me what information I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Email hello@jessicacapone.com and I will take care of it.

If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you have rights under the GDPR, including the right to access, correct, delete, or object to how I use your information. The basis I rely on for handling your data is fulfilling your order and running the shop you bought from.

If you are in California, you have rights under California privacy law, including the right to know what I collect and the right to delete it. I do not sell personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of on that front, but the right stands.

I will not treat you differently for exercising any of these rights.

Children

This shop is meant for adults buying art. It is not directed at children, and I do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

Changes

If I change this policy, I will update the date at the top. If a change is significant, I will make it clear on the site.
